Surat thani: Thai Oil donated solar cells to Phanom Hospital in Surat Thani Province, aiming to reduce electricity costs by more than 50,000 baht per month. Recently, Mr. Bandit Thammaprajamjit, Chief Executive Officer and President of Thai Oil Public Company Limited, handed over a solar power generation system to Phanom Hospital in Surat Thani Province. Dr. Anu Thongdaeng, Surat Thani Provincial Public Health Officer, was the recipient. Mr. Suchao Tumosik, Phanom District Chief, representatives of the Thai Oil Alumni Association, and representatives from government agencies were also present. During the handover ceremony, the hospital provided health screening services to the public, and village health volunteers prepared herbal compresses and essential oils for distribution to the public in front of the main conference room at Phanom Hospital in Phanom District, Surat Thani Province.
According to Thai News Agency, the installation of this solar power system has enabled Phanom Hospital to reduce its electricity costs by over 50,000 baht per month. These savings have been used to enhance medical services, including the purchase of medical equipment such as diabetic retinopathy screening machines and dialysis unit equipment. Thai Oil volunteer engineers have also used their engineering knowledge to provide training and instruction on the use of the solar power system for hospital personnel to ensure sustainable use.

This project is part of our corporate social responsibility efforts under the concept of “Sustainable Energy for Healthcare and Education.” Thai Oil has been installing solar power systems at 17 public health agencies and educational institutions in five provinces since 2018. The project aims to ensure energy security, reduce electricity costs, enhance medical service capabilities, and promote the sustainable use of clean energy.
