Thai Open Water Swimming Team Heads to Boracay for ASEAN Championships

Boracay: The Aquatic Sports Association of Thailand is sending a team of 29 athletes to compete in the 4th Southeast Open Water Swimming Championships in Boracay, Philippines, from August 20-23, 2026. Late on the night of August 18, 2026, the Thai Open Water Swimming team, including 8 coaches and 3 officials, departed for the Republic of the Philippines. The departure was marked by an encouraging send-off from Mr. Worapong Patcharavit, President of the Open Water Swimming Division, at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Mr. Patcharavit urged the athletes to compete at their highest level and demonstrate the capabilities of Thai open water swimmers. The team is managed by Mr. Winai Sinpanyasiri.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai contingent comprises 15 male athletes: Suradit Suphankhong, Nithit Sirisuwankit, Thanat Lorthonglom, Maruj Kaennak, Worapakphong Ratchathewin, Kittinan Chotithayangkoon, Thanat Kaewkird, Theerach Saowakhon, Kritthiwat Nipatchakarn, Monthol Sittichai, Sakdichot Thalawong, Kantapong Pholyiam, Thanat Thongchiang, Kawin Sukmuang, and Phawat Pitichanpreecha. The female athletes representing Thailand include Thitirat Phromsilp, Pornphat Kajaroen, Hirunrat Musikul, Paranee Srisuk, Pichayanat Kittiworakit, Yaowaret Sorathipakdee, Suphasita Narapirom, Ariya Sawangman, Chonphatsanap Chatisuwut, Panasorn Achayindee, Pandita Sippakorn, Kalchana Konsap, Thanatyanan Kerkrung, and Pichayapa Anantawara.

The ASEAN Open Water Swimming Championships present a significant opportunity for these athletes to compete on a regional stage, showcasing their skills and representing Thailand with pride. As the team competes in Boracay, anticipation is high for strong performances and potential podium finishes.
