Thai Stocks Dip as SET Closes Morning Session Lower

Bangkok: Thai stocks closed the morning session down 4.20 points. The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) closed this morning at 1,265.84 points, down 4.20 points (-0.33%), with a trading value of approximately 17.097 billion baht.

According to Thai News Agency, analysts predict the Thai stock market is fluctuating within a range, awaiting the direction of US interest rates. The market is currently placing nearly 50% weight on the Fed’s interest rate cut following slowing labor market figures. High-yield credit spreads are also rising, reflecting economic concerns. Meanwhile, Fed officials are anticipating a rate freeze at their December meeting. The afternoon trend is expected to fluctuate similarly to the morning, with support at 1,260 points and resistance at 1,285 points.
