Bangkok: Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce confirmed that trade negotiations with the United States will proceed, despite concerns over the ongoing political conflict with Cambodia. Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun stated that the US has committed to separating political matters from trade and remains intent on finalizing the talks by year-end.

According to Thai News Agency, Suthumpun emphasized that Cambodia first violated a “Joint Declaration” and that the tension will not impact US-Thai economic relations. The ministry is simultaneously focusing on a proactive strategy to expand into new markets and reduce reliance on any single trading partner.

Recent meetings with the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) affirmed Thailand’s role as a key player in the global supply chain and a stable economic ally.
