Thai Women’s Futsal Team Departs for Manila to Compete in 2025 Futsal World Cup

Manila: The Thai women’s national futsal team has departed for Manila, Philippines, to prepare for the 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup, which will take place from November 21 to December 7, 2025.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thailand women’s futsal team, ranked 4th in the world, is placed in Group B alongside Spain (ranked 2nd), Colombia (ranked 8th), and Canada (ranked 74th). The group stage will see the top two teams from each of the four groups advancing to the quarter-finals.

The trip is led by a delegation including “Big Pom” Adisak Benjasiriwan, Vice President of the Association and Chairman of the Futsal and Beach Soccer Development Department, and several other key officials and coaching staff. The team traveled on Philippine Airlines flight PR 731 to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila.

Before departure, “Big Pom” highlighted the significance of this tournament as the first Women’s Futsal World Cup, emphasizing the team’s readiness. He noted the importance of the upcoming matches against Spain, Canada, and Colombia, with a focus on achieving at least four points in the group stage to advance.

Head Coach “Coach O” mentioned the team’s rigorous preparation despite the mid-season substitution of Patitta Mulpho due to injury. He stressed the need for strategic planning and psychological readiness, particularly for the challenging match against Spain.

Player Darika Pianphailun expressed the team’s readiness and excitement, drawing confidence from recent warm-up games against New Zealand and Brazil. She emphasized the team’s focus on defense and tactics, aiming to advance to the next round and make history.

The Thai national women’s futsal team will face Spain on November 22, Canada on November 25, and Colombia on November 28, all at Philsports Arena in Manila.
