Jakarta: Thailand and Indonesia have strengthened cooperation, exchanging four Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and witnessing the approval for the name change of "PT Bank Kasikorn Indonesia."
According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony took place at 10:30 AM (Jakarta local time) at the Fairmont Jakarta Hotel in Indonesia. Ms. Rachada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that following the Business Forum's keynote speech, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul observed the exchange of four MOUs between Thai and Indonesian government agencies and private sectors. These agreements focus on areas aligned with both countries' economic development objectives.
The MOUs include an agreement to promote Thai tourism between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and PT Trinusa Travelindo (Traveloka Indonesia), and a strategic marketing, communication, and tourism cooperation agreement between TAT and PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri (TransNusa Indonesia). Additionally, there are MOUs on Carbon Market Cooperation and economic cooperation between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Indonesia) and the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
The event concluded with a souvenir presentation to the Prime Minister by KADIN Indonesia, followed by a group photo with representatives from both countries' government and private sectors.
At 10:35 AM, the Prime Minister also attended a ceremony for the official name change of Maspion Bank to PT Bank Kasikorn Indonesia Tbk, following approval by the Indonesian Financial Supervisory Authority on July 13, 2026. This investment by Thai banks signifies the Thai business sector's confidence in Indonesia's economic potential and growth, marking a pivotal step for Thai financial institutions in enhancing regional economic connectivity.
The spokesperson for the Prime Minister highlighted that the exchange of MOUs and the bank's name change ceremony are significant milestones in Thai-Indonesian relations, aiming to boost cooperation in tourism, economy, trade, finance, and investment, thereby fostering regional security, prosperity, and sustainable growth.
