Cha-am: The Football Association of Thailand is hosting the 32nd AFF Congress 2025 in the coastal town of Cha-am, marking the first time in nine years the country has played host to this significant event. Organized by the ASEAN Football Federation, the congress brings together football leaders from across the region to discuss key developments and future plans for the sport.
According to Thai News Agency, Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Football Association of Thailand, hosted the congress, which was chaired by Kyiv Sameth, President of the ASEAN Football Federation. The event attracted a distinguished roster of guests, including Datuk Seri Windsor-John, Secretary-General of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and Wahid Kardany, Deputy Secretary-General of the AFC, along with representatives from FIFA who participated as observers. FIFA President Gianni Infantino contributed to the congress with an online opening address. A solemn moment was observed at the start of the meeting to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.
Member associations from 12 ASEAN nations were also present at the congress. Notable attendees included Erick Thohir, President of the Indonesian Football Federation, Forrest Li, President of the Singapore Football Federation, and Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation, among others. The gathering also saw participation from executives of SportFIVE, underscoring the wide-ranging interest in the discussions.
The main agenda of the meeting focused on approving the annual financial statements, recognizing the achievements of ASEAN member associations for the year 2024-2025, and confirming the schedule for the AFF Hyundai Cup 2026, set to take place between 24 July and 26 August 2026.
