Thailand: Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports has initiated a technology-driven safety program in collaboration with the Tourist Police Bureau. The program, which was announced on Friday, involves the deployment of drones and mobile command units to enhance the safety of foreign tourists visiting the country.

According to Thai News Agency, Tourism Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul conducted an inspection of the newly acquired equipment. The initiative includes 128 drones, 32 surveillance vehicles, and 4 mobile command buses, which will be distributed across 32 tourist police stations nationwide. This distribution aims to facilitate quicker emergency responses and improve area monitoring for tourist safety.

In addition to the drones and vehicles, police units have been outfitted with 1,250 patrol kits, 450 stun guns, and 900 automated translation devices. These tools are intended to bolster real-time communication capabilities with foreign tourists, ensuring better interaction and assistance.

The Tourism Minister also made a visit to the 1155 Tourist Police Command and Emergency Call Center, which provides services around the clock in eight different languages. This center plays a crucial role in supporting tourists and addressing their concerns promptly.

Surasak highlighted the importance of safety as a key factor for international travelers when selecting destinations. He emphasized the government's commitment to integrating modern technology into its security framework to elevate safety standards and bolster the tourism industry.
