Thailand Prepares for Grand Royal Flame Run for SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games

Bangkok: Thailand is set to host a significant event on November 16th, featuring a run to carry the royal flame for the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games across four host provinces: Bangkok, Chonburi, Songkhla, and Nakhon Ratchasima. This event will see participation from representatives of 10 ASEAN nations and various sectors, totaling over 4,000 people.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), announced that the organizing committees for the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games have received the royal flame, which will be used during the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games hosted by Thailand from December 9-20, 2025, and the 13th ASEAN Para Games from January 20-26, 2026. On November 16, 2025, the flame will be carried in a running event held simultaneously in the four provinces, each hosting 1,000 participants.

The designated venues for the royal flame run include Tinsulanon Stadium in Songkhla, Daikin Industries (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate in Chonburi, the activity area in front of the 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium in Nakhon Ratchasima, and the activity area in front of Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok. The event will feature 292 relays of torchbearers from the four provinces, attended by athletes, sports association representatives, executives, and sponsors.

“The Royal Flame Run will culminate in the Royal Flames from Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla being moved to the Sports Authority of Thailand’s 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary Building for the SEA Games opening ceremony preparations. In Nakhon Ratchasima, the Royal Flames will be relocated to the Provincial Hall for the ASEAN Para Games opening ceremony preparations,” stated the SAT Governor.
