Thailand Reiterates Ceasefire Stance Amidst Cambodia Border Tensions

Bangkok: Thailand has reaffirmed its position on the ceasefire with Cambodia, emphasizing that it will not compromise the country's sovereignty, while maintaining a vigilant 24-hour monitoring system. According to Thai News Agency, Air Chief Marshal Praphas Sonjaidee, Director of the Joint Press Center for the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation, reiterated Thailand's commitment to upholding international standards and responsibility in response to recent developments and statements from Cambodia.

Air Chief Marshal Praphas emphasized the Thai government's intent to protect its citizens, uphold national sovereignty, and minimize losses through an immediate ceasefire established on December 27, 2025. He clarified that this ceasefire will not alter Thailand's sovereignty or border positions, and the military remains on high alert to respond to any violations of the agreement in accordance with international law.

The Joint Press Center stressed the importance of factual, evidence-based actions and the role of international verification mechanisms to ensure transparency and a genuine reduction in tensions.
