Thailand: Thailand's Election Commission (EC) has launched a high-security logistics operation to transport millions of ballots for the upcoming general election and constitutional referendum. Partnering with the Royal Thai Police and Thailand Post, the commission has established a 24-hour coordination center to monitor shipments via real-time tracking, ensuring transparency and traceability for both domestic and overseas voting.
According to Thai News Agency, EC Secretary-General Sawang Boonmee confirmed that over 2.4 million people have registered for advance voting, while approximately 1.6 million are set to participate in the referendum. To prevent confusion on polling day, officials clarified that the official referendum ballot will be yellow, despite blue samples appearing in earlier manuals.
A total of 168.3 million ballots have been printed for the Feb. 8 vote, with international shipments to 95 cities across 67 countries scheduled to begin Saturday morning.
