Thailand to Host Asian Age Group Championships 2026 After a Decade

Bangkok: Thailand has announced its readiness to host the Asian Age Group Championships 2026, marking the first time in a decade that the country will serve as the venue for this prestigious event. Scheduled to occur from July 16-25, 2026, the championship is set to welcome a total of 1,226 athletes and 332 officials from 34 nations.

According to Thai News Agency, the competition will encompass four sports: swimming, diving, rhythmic swimming, and water polo. These events will be held across three primary locations: the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) in Hua Mak, the Assumption University Aquatic Sports Center at Suvarnabhumi Campus, and Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus.

Captain Thamanat Phromphao, President of the Aquatic Sports Association of Thailand, emphasized that hosting the championships underscores Thailand's capability to organize international sporting events. He highlighted that this event will not only enhance tourism and the economy but also aid in the development of young athletes for future Asian Games and Olympics.
