Bangkok: The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) is preparing to utilize the SEA Games stadiums to their full potential. Dr. Kongsak Yodmani, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, revealed plans to utilize the SEA Games stadiums for sustainable purposes. Facilities such as the swimming pool and extreme sports facilities have been upgraded to international standards. He also pledged full support for the continued hosting of the SEA Games to maximize their value.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Kongsak Yodmani highlighted that after Thailand successfully hosted the 33rd Southeast Asian Games from December 9-20, 2025, it brought benefits to the sports sector, including the development of athletes and sports personnel, as well as stimulating the country’s economy with value in the tens of billions of baht. Furthermore, the conclusion of this SEA Games has resulted in the establishment of over 80 upgraded competition and training venues, now adhering to international standards. These venues, including
Rajamangala National Stadium and other facilities within the SAT compound, are intended to serve the sports community in the future.
The Governor emphasized that the venues for the 33rd SEA Games represent a significant upgrade in infrastructure, bringing them up to international standards. This includes new competition equipment and the SEA Games logo featured prominently at each venue, enhancing their value. The SAT is committed to supporting sports associations in organizing competitions to maximize benefits and value, both domestically and internationally.
Dr. Kongsak also noted that the SEA Games provides an opportunity to redefine the image of international sports hosting. Thailand aims to restore the prestige of the SEA Games by focusing on high-standard international sports for upcoming events.
