Thailand Unveils Medals for 33rd SEA Games and 13th ASEAN Para Games

Bangkok: The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) unveiled the medals for the upcoming 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games, emphasizing a blend of sportsmanship and Thai cultural artistry under the theme “PLAY BY THE RULES.”

According to Thai News Agency, the 33rd SEA Games, scheduled to take place in Thailand from December 9 to 20, 2025, across Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla Province, will showcase medals that combine traditional Thai art with the essence of sports. The medals feature a grid pattern inspired by Thai art and the framework lines of a sports field, symbolizing the seamless integration of sports with Thai cultural identity.

Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, the SAT Governor, highlighted that the medals represent “sports and art,” “international cooperation,” and “Thai identity,” embodying the concept of “PLAY BY THE RULES.” This concept underscores the importance of rules, regulations, and discipline, foundational elements of fairness, sportsmanship, and mutual respect among competitors.

The medals are crafted from durable, impact-resistant materials and are plated in gold, silver, and nickel, ensuring longevity and resistance to peeling. Each medal measures 8.5 centimeters in diameter and 0.8 centimeters in thickness, with precise and clear text and logos. The front displays the 2025 SEA Games logo, while the back features the SEA Games Federation logo alongside competition text. The background showcases a Thai woven pattern, representing the weaving of friendships and unity among athletes from all ASEAN countries, highlighting the unifying power of sports.

The SAT Governor also mentioned that the medals for the 13th ASEAN Para Games, slated for January 20-26, 2026, in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, will share the same design, with slight modifications to the logos and symbols. Each medal is produced with a focus on strength, durability, and elegance, ensuring that they serve as a symbol of victory and pride for all athletes.
