Bangkok: The roster of four Thai surfers for the 20th Asian Games, taking place from September 19th to October 4th, 2026, in Japan, has been revealed. The latest update on the Thai national windsurfing team for the 20th Asian Games, to be held in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya City, Japan, is that Mr. Pattana Boonsawat, Secretary-General of the Windsurfing Association of Thailand, has announced the names of four athletes who will represent Thailand after intensive training. These athletes are: "Will" William Macmillan, a Thai-Australian, competing in the men's IQ Foil category; "Dao" Siriporn Kaewduangngam, competing in the women's IQ Foil category; "Wal" Wachirawit Thon-up, competing in the men's IQ Foil under 19 category; and "Cake" Chanatkarn Charoensuk, competing in the women's IQ Foil under 19 category. According to Thai News Agency, the readiness of all athletes is now fully prepared both physically and mentally. Training during this period will focus more on sea training, intensifying skills, techniques, and starting maneuvers. As Thai athletes have never competed at this venue before, the association plans to travel there for a training camp starting September 9th, 2026, to acclimatize and become familiar with the wind and currents as much as possible. The 20th Asian Games will feature four gold medals up for grabs, starting on September 26, 2026. At the previous Games in Hangzhou, China (windsurfing was held in Ningbo), the Thai windsurfing team won one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. The gold medal was won by Siriporn Kaewduangngam in the women's RSX category (Siriporn previously won two bronze medals in 2014 and 2018), the silver by Nattapong Pothinoparat in the men's RSX category, and the bronze by Athicha Homraruen in the women's IQ Foil category.
