Bangkok: The Department of Business Development, in collaboration with the Thai Health Promotion Association, is actively advancing Digital Wellness Transformation to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and elevate their services to international standards. The initiative aims to establish a comprehensive health business ecosystem, positioning Thailand as a tangible 'Global Wellness Hub.'
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, recently engaged in discussions with executives from the Thai Wellness Association (TWA) to collaboratively propel Thailand's healthcare service business into the digital era. This effort marks a proactive start to the year, with the objective of transitioning Thailand's healthcare service business from its traditional framework to one driven by technology and innovation. The aim is to enhance entrepreneurs' long-term competitiveness.
The Director-General emphasized that the government's support for the wellness business extends beyond economic growth. It also focuses on creating a mutually beneficial business ecosystem throughout the supply chain. This involves upgrading service standards and management practices, along with providing access to digital tools akin to those used by large enterprises, ensuring the sustainable growth of SMEs and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The main cooperation plan between the Department and the Association includes three key strategies. Firstly, the plan aims to strengthen modern marketing strategies by using online platforms and digital tools to expand the customer base from domestic to international markets. Secondly, it focuses on upgrading service models with innovation, specifically at the Health and Wellness Centre level, by integrating digital systems and artificial intelligence to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience. Thirdly, it involves linking intelligent health service databases to develop a unified system for spa, massage, and health rehabilitation businesses, utilizing Big Data to analyze trends and accurately determine business strategies.
Mr. Poonpong reiterated that this collaboration is a practical step to transform challenges faced by entrepreneurs into growth opportunities. He believes that the potential of Thailand's wellness business, combined with the service orientation of the Thai people, can position the country as a regional leader in the health and wellness industry. This development is expected to further advance Thailand into becoming a "Global Wellness Hub," generating sustainable long-term income and economic stability.
