He revealed that out of 7 reservoirs, 4 are overflowing, while the other 3 reservoirs need to store water for use in the dry season. Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, gave a press conference after the cabinet meeting about the flood situation in many areas at the moment. He said that the water situation in the northern region, including the Ping, Wang, Yom and Nan rivers that flow into the Chao Phraya River, the Chao Phraya basin currently has water levels that we can control. As for all tributaries in the northeastern region, there is more water than last year. However, we are managing and monitoring the water in the tributaries so that it does not affect people, both in the agricultural sector and houses in the area. Lt. Col. Thammanat continued that in the eastern region, the problem that occurred was due to the amount of water from the h eavy rain that fell over the past week, which affected people in Trat Province, Mueang District and Khao Saming District. Yesterday, he went to Trat and Chanthaburi Province to order the relevant agencies to control the water situation. If there is more rain, he is confident that the water situation in the eastern region can be controlled. Of the 7 reservoirs in Trat Province, 4 are currently overflowing, while 3 still need water to store for use in the dry season. The same goes for Chanthaburi Province, which can be controlled.
