Bangkok: Lieutenant Colonel Thanakrit Chittrareerat, spokesperson for the Kla Tham Party and a candidate for the party's proportional representation seat, voiced concerns over Bangkok's enduring issues during a campaign in Udomsuk district. He supported Ms. Natthanin Lertechasakul, the party's candidate for Bangkok Constituency 23, emphasizing that the problems arise from unfulfilled promises by political parties.
According to Thai News Agency, Thanakrit led a team to Khun Yim Udomsuk Market to engage with locals, including shoppers and vendors. The campaign extended to several areas such as Lasalle, Udomsuk, Prawit and Friends, Wachiratham, Punnavithi, Udomsuk Walk Market, Punnavithi Market, and Duangploy Market. The Kla Tham Party aims to address persistent issues like traffic congestion, air pollution, and grassroots economic challenges, which have been neglected despite previous promises.
Thanakrit stressed the necessity for the Kla Tham Party to tackle these issues, aiming to make business operations easier for vendors and reduce the health impact of high PM2.5 levels on children. He also highlighted the importance of improving care for vulnerable groups, including the homeless and people with disabilities, and enhancing the healthcare referral process. Additionally, he underscored the potential of developing tourism to boost the local economy and reiterated the party's commitment to combating scams, illegal activities, and drug trafficking.
Residents of Bangkok have expressed a strong desire for the Kla Tham Party to expedite these improvements, with a particular focus on increasing green spaces and exercise areas to enhance the city's livability.
