After the incident, Surat Thani City Police Station officers inspected the scene and found rescue workers performing CPR on Mr. Kai before rushing him to the hospital, but they were unable to save his life. The police then took Mr. Thanawut, who was in the Pad Thai Hoi Tod shop, into custody for questioning at the police station.
