The State Audit Office protects over 30 billion baht of government funds in 2023, recommends that all agencies coordinate construction of Rama II Road, reducing construction time from 8 months to 5 months. Mr. Suttipong Boonnithi, Deputy Auditor-General and Spokesperson of the Office of the Auditor-General, revealed the progress of the inspection results of the elevated road construction project on Highway No. 35, Thon Buri-Pak Tho (Rama II Road), with a contract value of 3,994 million baht (Rama II Elevated Road Construction Project, Section 1), Section 2 under Contract No. Sor Sor 21/2562 dated August 27, 2019, with a contract value of 3,991 million baht, and Section 3 under Contract No. Sor Sor 22/2562 dated August 27, 2019, with a contract value of 2,491.000 million baht, for a total contract value of 10,477 million baht, with the Department of Highways expecting the construction of all 3 contracts to be completed in November 2024. The Office of the Auditor General's spokesman said that from the audit of the Office of the Auditor General (OAG), it was found that the management of the contract may not result in results or lack efficiency. That is, the construction project of the elevated road on Rama II Road, Section 1, has the starting point of the construction of the Main Line at Km. 11+959, which will connect to the Main Line of the Expressway Authority of Thailand's Rama III Expressway Project. Users will be able to use the elevated road on Rama II Road. Therefore, it is recommended that all agencies coordinate and divide the work responsibilities, which will reduce the construction plan from 8 months to 5 months. For the fiscal year 2023, the Office of the Auditor General has audited the state budget of central and regional government agencies, local government agencies, state enterprises, funds and revolving funds, and other government agencies, totaling 9,426 agencies, with a total of 14,148 reports/systems/contracts/announcements. Deficiencies were found and recommendations were made to the audited units to correct deficiencies and improve operations to comply with relevant laws and regulations, totaling 1,795 agencies, or 19.04 percent of the audited units audited by the Office of the Auditor General, with a total damage value of 30,835 million baht.
