“Thepthai” returns to freedom, removes EM bracelet

Thepthai' returns to freedom, removes EM bracelet after 2 years in prison, suspended for 8 months, complains about the justice process giving privileges to male prisoner 'Thaksin' over others. Reporters reported that the Probation Department has summoned Mr. Thepthai Senapong, former MP for Nakhon Si Thammarat, Democrat Party, to remove the EM bracelet after serving 2 years in prison, suspended for 8 months, according to the Supreme Court's ruling in the 2014 election fraud case for the mayor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Mr. Thepthai revealed that today is the last day of his 2-year imprisonment, in which he was granted a suspended sentence for 8 months, and today is the end of his suspended sentence. He reported to the probation officers yesterday, and today is a good day because he removed his EM bracelet. During the time he was on probation, he strictly followed all the regulations of the Corrections Department. During his imprisonment, he would like to thank Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, former Minister o f Justice, currently Minister of Public Health, who personally visited him in prison, Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, who visited and coordinated the suspension of his sentence, and all prison officers who behaved like ordinary prisoners, without any special privileges. On July 6, 2022, I went to prison. On July 28, 2022, there was a royal pardon decree, but I did not receive it because the cabinet had a condition that I must serve one-third of my prison term first. Therefore, I did not receive a pardon. I had been in prison for 8 months, and one-third of my sentence was granted a special suspended sentence. They had treated some VIP prisoners, but I did not receive it. On August 22, 2023, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra traveled to Thailand to serve his sentence and requested a royal pardon, but I did not receive it. Thaksin gave four reasons for requesting a royal pardon. The first reason was that he was a politician who had worked for the country. I am also a politician who has ser ved the country, so why did I not receive the same right as Thaksin? He also claimed to be loyal to the monarchy. I am also loyal to the monarchy and do not have a case under Section 112 like Thaksin. He also claimed to have faith in the justice process. But he himself fled the country for 17 years, different from me who did not flee the country from the case, entered the justice process in accordance with the law, and said that he was old and had a chronic disease, which I also met the criteria for. The overall picture that was mentioned shows different treatment, that Mr. Thaksin received privileges as an angel prisoner above others. Because of this inequality in the justice process, since Mr. Thaksin was on the 14th floor of the Police Hospital, while other prisoners were in prison, just claiming to be seriously ill. As for the interview of Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth Temiyawes, it should be an important source of evidence to tie up Mr. Thaksin, where Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth said that he went to visit Mr. Thaksin , who asked him to withdraw the lawsuit against Mr. Settha Thavisin, the Prime Minister, which means that at that time, Mr. Thaksin was on the 14th floor, not seriously ill as claimed, and was fully conscious and able to give orders and take action. I would like to ask the relevant agencies to investigate to find the truth. They should reconsider this matter again that Mr. Thaksin is not really ill as claimed, and that right now, Mr. Thaksin is infiltrating the political circle. He did not come back to take care of his grandchildren as he said. Source: Thai News Agency
