Bangkok: People have been traveling to pay their respects to the royal urn of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. Today marks the first day that individuals from different provinces have continuously traveled to the Grand Palace’s Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall to honor the royal urn.
According to Thai News Agency, groups from provinces such as Kamphaeng Phet, Kanchanaburi, and Krabi are arriving in an organized manner. Arrangements have been made to allow approximately 3,000 people per day to visit. Some groups, like those from Surin Province, have chartered vehicles and traveled overnight to arrive early in the morning.
Officials have implemented a queue system to facilitate the visiting public. People begin their wait at a tent opposite the Supreme Court and gradually proceed through a tent opposite the Red Building. Visitors receive royal food, refreshments, and seating arrangements while waiting. They are then called to the screening point inside the tunnel in front of the Royal Plaza, where over 1,000 chairs are available. The process has been described as orderly.
