Traffy Fondue App Mobilizes Efforts for Flood Recovery in Bangkok

Bangkok:Traffy Fondue, an all-in-one application, has initiated a collaborative effort with five ministries and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to tackle post-flood challenges through its "Repair, Rebuild, Fight Floods" program. This initiative aims to provide free repair services and facilitate communication between affected citizens and assistance agencies.

According to Thai News Agency, the program is spearheaded by Professor Dr. Yoschanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, alongside Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defence, and other key officials. The Traffy Fondue system connects citizens with agencies for cleanup and repair work after floodwaters recede, addressing damage to homes, appliances, and vehicles.

Deputy Prime Minister Yotsanun emphasized the importance of mobilizing resources, noting that some citizens might lack insurance coverage. NECTEC, managing the Traffy Fondue system, and BMA will coordinate efforts with various educational institutions and vocational groups to ensure comprehensive assistance.

For those unable to access the app, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Resources will deploy volunteers to assist in information input. The project also invites volunteers from the private sector.

Lieutenant General Adul confirmed that the armed forces would support the BMA with personnel and equipment, addressing immediate needs in hard-to-reach areas. Meanwhile, Associate Professor Thawida highlighted ongoing military assistance in severely flooded districts and the focus on restoration efforts.

Minister of Labour Mr. Chulaphan stated that technicians have been mobilized to offer free repair services, utilizing the Traffy Fondue platform for efficient resource management. Mr. Nikorn stressed the system's role in supporting vulnerable groups, ensuring comprehensive care.

Mr. Akranan pointed out the involvement of vocational networks in repairing electrical equipment, with Traffy Fondue serving as a central hub for coordination. For smaller repairs, Mr. Suksit Srijomkwan noted that service centers and mobile units are ready to assist.

Dr. Wasan Phattharaathikom of NECTEC detailed the service model, which includes housing, appliance, and vehicle repairs, as well as other essential services. Pilot service points are operational in several provinces, with private sector collaboration encouraged through contact via LINE.

To request assistance, users can follow steps on the LINE app under the "Repair, Rebuild, Fight Floods" menu, ensuring their needs are addressed efficiently.
