Bangkok: TRAVEL LINK, a platform connecting Thai tourism information, is creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to adjust strategies to accurately handle tourists. As the Thai tourism industry accelerates its recovery and prepares for the year-end peak season, data has become a key enabler for all sectors to better predict and understand traveler behavior.
According to Thai News Agency, TRAVEL LINK plays a crucial role as a “decision support tool” that enables tourism operators in the public, private, and other sectors to utilize in-depth data for effective planning, development, and strategic decision-making. This platform integrates data from multiple sources, such as travel, accommodation, and traveler movement across the country, and presents it in a constantly updated dashboard format, helping operators gain a comprehensive view of tourism trends.
One notable feature is the Monthly International Passenger Statistics Dashboard, which helps track international passenger arrivals into Thailand. For the first half of 2025, the top nationalities entering Thailand included Malaysians, with 2.9 million visitors, predominantly through the Songkhla and Sadao checkpoints; Chinese, with 2.5 million visitors via Suvarnabhumi Airport; and Lao nationals, with 1.6 million visitors through checkpoints like Nong Khai and the Friendship Bridge 1.
This data reflects travel trends across Thailand’s key tourism markets. Neighboring markets like Malaysia and Laos continue to play a key role in cross-border tourism, while China remains a significant source of international tourists. Business operators can use this data to tailor marketing strategies to align with the behavior and travel channels of tourists from each nationality.
Additionally, the platform offers an overall visitor statistics dashboard for each province, displaying visitor numbers and tourism revenue. Data from the first half of 2025 reveals that Phuket received about 7.2 million visitors, generating approximately 2.74 billion baht in revenue, while Chonburi attracted around 13.8 million visitors, generating about 1.68 billion baht.
These statistics indicate varied visitor behavior patterns across regions, with Phuket attracting high-spending visitors and Chonburi enjoying high visitor volume. This allows operators to design promotions or travel packages tailored to the unique context of each province, thus enhancing the overall tourism strategy.
