Abu dhabi: Ms. Treenuch Thianthong, Minister of Labour, has expressed concern for Thai workers in Israel, instructing the labor attach© to closely monitor the situation, keeping all contact channels open for assistance, and ensuring 24-hour readiness in case evacuation is necessary. She also reassured relatives of Thai workers, stating there is no need to panic as the government is prepared to provide full support.

According to Thai News Agency, the concern arises from escalating tensions in the Middle East and the potential for the conflict to intensify and spread, potentially impacting the well-being of Thai workers residing in the region.

Ms. Treenuch has directed the Labour Office at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and the Labour Attach© at the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, to closely monitor the situation and be prepared to provide care for Thai workers should the situation escalate and affect them. The Labour Attach© has already coordinated and warned Thai workers to exercise increased caution when traveling and remains in constant contact with Thai worker groups. Ms. Treenuch emphasized that immediate action can be taken if evacuation becomes necessary and advised Thai workers to follow news updates from the Royal Thai Embassy and relevant authorities.

Thai workers in Iran requiring assistance have been provided with contact information for the Labour Attach© at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran, and the Department of Consular Affairs Call Center, available 24 hours a day. They can also seek help through the THAI CONSULAR application.

For Thai nationals affected in Israel, contact information for the Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai Labour Section in Tel Aviv has been shared, along with details for accessing Thai interpreters through PIBA.

Ms. Treenuch reassured relatives of Thai workers abroad, urging them not to panic. She confirmed that the Thai government, including the embassy and the Ministry of Labour, is committed to providing the best possible protection and care while closely monitoring the situation. Thai workers are urged to strictly adhere to official measures.
