Washington: The U.S. Central Command has confirmed the destruction of 17 Iranian vessels, marking a significant development in ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran. Commander Brad Cooper of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) disclosed in a video released on the X platform that U.S. forces had targeted and destroyed these ships, including Iran's most frequently utilized submarine, which now has holes in its hull. Cooper described this event as the sinking of the entire Iranian navy.
According to Thai News Agency, Cooper further detailed that U.S. forces have engaged nearly 2,000 targets, utilizing over 2,000 rounds of ammunition. These operations have notably reduced Iranian air defenses and resulted in the destruction of hundreds of Iranian missiles, launchers, and drones. Cooper emphasized that U.S. forces are committed to continuing their offensive against Iran, extending their reach from the seabed to space and cyberspace.
The U.S. Central Command has also reported that since the commencement of the U.S. and Israeli offensive, Iran has responded by firing more than 500 missiles and launching over 2,000 drone strikes. The ongoing conflict underscores the escalating military engagement in the region.
