UN calls for Israel-Hamas immediate humanitarian ceasefire

BEIJING, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Israeli-Hamas war that has been going on since October 7.

Mr. Guterres spoke at the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) in Beijing, China. Repeat what he stated. It made two urgent humanitarian appeals, calling on Hamas to immediately and unconditionally release the hostages. This refers to at least 199 hostages abducted by Hamas during the bloodiest attack on Israel in Israeli history. He also called on Israel to immediately enable humanitarian aid to reach people in Gaza in need of their most basic needs. Most of which are children and women.

Mr. Guterres said We call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. To allow time and space to make the above two requests come true. and alleviate the great suffering of the people that everyone is witnessing. Many lives and the fate of the entire region hang in the balance.
