Varawut Silpa-archa Leads Initiative to Support Flood-Affected Nan Factories

Nan: Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry, has initiated a comprehensive plan to assist factories and businesses in Nan province that have been affected by recent flooding. This initiative aims to expedite the recovery process for these enterprises through detailed assessments and financial aid.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Varawut has ordered a swift survey of the flood damage to the businesses and factories in the region. The Ministry of Industry is actively working to assess the extent of damage, which varies from minor issues like cleaning to more severe problems requiring extensive system repairs. The provincial industry offices have been tasked with collaborating with other relevant agencies to carry out thorough inspections, especially focusing on critical systems such as electrical and wastewater treatment systems, to ensure they are operational. In cases where damage is identified, immediate corrective measures will be taken to enable businesses to resume operations safely.

In addition, Mr. Varawut emphasized the collaboration with experts and relevant agencies to provide expedited assistance. For entrepreneurs, particularly those running small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and facing financial challenges, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank) is offering special loan programs. These loans are designed to aid in the rapid resumption of business activities, helping entrepreneurs overcome the economic impact of the floods.
