Bangkok: Veeam Software has announced the launch of its pioneering Agentic AI governance solution on the Veeam DataAIS Command Platform, aimed at assisting businesses in Thailand in automating data privacy and adhering to AI governance regulations. This initiative comes in response to the increasingly rigorous Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) regulations and the forthcoming AI Act preparations.
According to Thai News Agency, organizations across Thailand are grappling with the challenges posed by these stringent legal requirements. The PDPA has already led to the imposition of administrative fines exceeding 21.5 million baht, alongside mandates for reporting data breaches within a 72-hour timeframe. Concurrently, government bodies such as the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) and the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) are expediting the process of collecting public feedback on draft guidelines and a draft AI Act that emphasizes strict liability principles.
Mr. Jesada Phasvaravit, Senior Director for Thailand at Veeam, highlighted the importance of integrating AI governance evidence into workflows from the beginning, rather than as an afterthought. This approach resonates with the trust that leading Thai organizations have consistently shown in Veeam, as demonstrated by companies like EGAT, which has reduced data recovery time to just five minutes; KBTG, which has cut administrative hours by 900 per month; and Tipaya Insurance, which has enhanced its IT system efficiency by 99%.
To alleviate the burden of traditional workflows that depend on manual assessments or spreadsheets, Veeam has introduced three PrivacyOps AI Agents designed to automate compliance tasks. The Consent Agent manages end-to-end consent processes, ensuring user consent signals are verified and enforced across interconnected systems. The Data Subject Request Agent streamlines the creation and updating of Data Subject Rights Request forms, adapting to legal changes rapidly. Lastly, the Assessment Agent facilitates automated risk assessments, analyzing evidence and providing responses for Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and EU AI Act standards.
The Veeam DataAIS Command Platform, leveraging the People Data Graph, consolidates structured and unstructured personal data within a hybrid multi-cloud environment. This enables immediate policy enforcement and the generation of audit-ready evidence, transitioning organizations from reactive quarterly reporting to proactive real-time data governance. This advancement allows businesses to keep pace with the swift developments in AI technology.
