Hat yai: Vocational students and teachers have stepped up to aid communities in Hat Yai through the Fix It Center, working tirelessly to restore vehicles and electrical equipment after the recent flood crisis. Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education, highlighted the impactful work of the Fix It Center, which falls under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC).
According to Thai News Agency, the Fix It Center mobilized a team of vocational educators and students to provide urgent assistance to flood-affected residents in Songkhla Province. The center has been offering repair services for damaged electrical appliances, motorcycles, cars, and other essential tools, aiming to restore functionality and normalcy to the lives of those impacted by the floods.
The initiative has seen a significant increase in service points, now totaling 53. Between November 29 and December 3, 2025, the center successfully serviced 12,597 repair requests. Out of these, 11,892 repairs have been completed, with 705 still in progress. This effort underscores the capacity of Thai vocational education to respond effectively during emergencies.
Mrs. Narumon emphasized the dedication of both teachers and students in meeting community needs, stating that the Ministry of Education remains committed to supporting the Fix It Center’s mission. The ministry will continue to provide necessary resources and coordination to help local residents resume their daily activities and employment swiftly.
