Riyadh: World-class golf pros are gearing up to compete in the PIF Saudi International Powered by SoftBank Investment Advisors, marking the final event of the 2025 International Series. The tournament offers a total prize purse of US$5 million (approximately 160 million baht) and begins its first round on Wednesday, November 19th, at the Riyadh Golf Club, a 7,439-yard, par-71 course in Saudi Arabia. Leading the Thai pro team is Sadom Kaewkanjana, who has recently earned a spot on the DP World Tour for next year. Notably, Saudi Arabia’s local time is four hours behind Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, the tournament, scheduled from November 19-22, will see world-renowned stars competing alongside top tour players. These include prominent US pros like Dustin Johnson, a former world number one and 2022 LIV Golf League individual champion; Taylor Gooch, the 2023 LIV Golf League individual champion; Patrick Reed, the 2018 Masters champion; Martin Kaymer, the 2010 PGA Championship and 2014 US Open champion from Germany; Louis Oosthuizen, the 2010 The Open champion from South Africa; and Sergio Garcia, a major champion from Spain.
The International Series has introduced a new quota system, where golfers finishing in the top two of the International Series points table for the 2025 season will earn a place in the next season’s LIV Golf League. Those finishing in the top 40 will be eligible for the LIV Golf League Promotions in Florida early next year, offering them a chance to compete in the upcoming LIV Golf League.
Meanwhile, the Asian Tour’s top players also join the action this week, including former US tour number one John Catlin, 2016 Asian Tour number one Scott Hend from Australia, as well as Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent and Japan’s Kazuki Higa, who are currently first and second in the International Series standings. Miguel Tabuana, the Philippines International Series champion in October and third in the standings, will be contending for a spot in the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season.
The tournament also sees the participation of fourteen Thai golfers, including Pro Petch-Sadom Kaewkanjana, who has recently secured a ticket to play in the 2026 DP World Tour, and Taisu-Ekpris Wu, the Asian Tour champion in Taiwan last Sunday. Other notable players include Pro Arm-Kiradej Aphibarnrat, a DP World Tour player and former Asian Tour No. 1 in 2013; Pro Jazz-Atiwich Janewattananon, the 2019 Asian Tour No. 1 and winner of seven Asian Tour events; and Asian Tour champions Suthipat Prateepthirachai and Phumi Saksaensin, winners of four Asian Tour events; Ratthanon Wannasrichan, winner of three events; and Danthai Boonma and Sarit Suwannarat, winners of two events each.
