Yamfaoland Foundation Donates Drones to Bolster Thai-Cambodian Border Security

Bangkok: The Yamfaoland Foundation has donated 100 drones to the Royal Thai Army to enhance security along the Thai-Cambodian border. Mr. Panthep Puapongphan, President of the foundation, along with his team, presented the drone systems valued at 19 million baht. Lieutenant General Wirayut Raksin, Commander of the Second Army Area, accepted the donation, with Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, former Commander of the Second Army Area and advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, witnessing the ceremony.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Panthep emphasized the confidentiality of the drone model details, categorizing them as state secrets. He explained that the constant evolution of drone and anti-drone technology demands rapid adaptation, as new developments can render existing systems obsolete within a week. The foundation’s ongoing efforts in drone development aim to address these challenges, not due to budget constraints but to keep pace with technological advancements. Mr. Panthep assured that all drones are Thai-owned and stressed the importance of continuous dialogue for development through local expertise.

Mr. Nanpanthep expressed confidence in the drones’ potential to enhance the army’s operational capabilities, safeguarding both soldiers and civilians. He highlighted the production of a squadron of 100 drones, underlining their strategic importance for national defense.

Additionally, Mr. Panthep presented three significant books to the former and current Second Army Region commanders. These included “Our Land,” a translation of historical Thai documents concerning the Preah Vihear Temple dispute, and documents from the House of Representatives regarding the MOU 2000-2001.

Lt. Gen. Boonsin expressed gratitude to the Yamfaoland Foundation for its dedication to national security. He noted that this donation is part of the foundation’s ongoing support to the Royal Thai Army, enhancing their technical capabilities and security operations. The Second Army Region Commander and the Director of the Signals Department are tasked with further modernizing this equipment to strengthen national defense efforts.
