Youngest MP Natthida Lekudakorn Embraces New Role with Confidence

Buriram: "Nong Ploy," a 25-year-old Member of Parliament for Buriram Constituency 2, has expressed her excitement and readiness as she begins her first term in office. Despite being known as the niece of prominent political figure Newin Chidchob, Natthida Lekudakorn remains unfazed by the familial connection and is focused on her new responsibilities.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Natthida, the youngest MP ever elected in her constituency, conveyed her gratitude and enthusiasm after being elected by the people of Buriram Province's Constituency 2. Her immediate focus will be on studying the local issues, identifying potential areas for growth, and contributing effectively to the development of her constituency.

When queried about her plans in parliament, Ms. Natthida expressed her intention to first observe the national landscape before setting a definitive agenda. However, she emphasized her commitment to promoting education, reflecting her youthful perspective. She also sought guidance from the media on conducting interviews as a novice MP.

Addressing her preparation for the role, Ms. Natthida admitted she had engaged in extensive preparation, acknowledging her lack of prior experience in the political field. Her proactive approach includes staying informed through news and fieldwork, which she believes equips her to assist the local community in District 2 of Buriram Province effectively.

Regarding concerns about being the youngest MP and facing scrutiny, Ms. Natthida stated that her primary worry is meeting public expectations. She reassured that she would strive to fulfill her duties to the best of her ability. On being recognized as Mr. Newin Chidchob's niece, she mentioned it as a non-issue, having already adapted to the attention following the initial news coverage.
