Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed on Friday, citing intelligence sources, that Russia is preparing a new major offensive in Ukraine. The Ukrainian leader also stated that urgently needed arms procurement programs for Ukraine, including one assisting in the purchase of air defense missiles, must be effectively implemented, adding that the adequacy of such arsenals largely depends on the United States.
According to Thai News Agency, the warning from the Ukrainian leader came after Russian authorities announced on Monday their intention to launch a systematic attack on various targets in Kyiv and urged foreigners and diplomatic missions to leave the area immediately. Furthermore, President Zelenskyy stated in an evening press briefing that he had discussed the Russian drone attack on Romanian territory with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. Both countries agreed to coordinate efforts to strengthen air defense systems.
