1st Army Area Commander Recognizes Volunteers for Their Service

Bangkok: The Commander of the 1st Army Area presented certificates of appreciation to volunteers who diligently and selflessly assisted citizens in paying respects to the late Queen Mother's body. Lieutenant General Worayot Leuangsuwan, Commander of the 1st Army Area and Director of the Royal Volunteer Center, Region 1, presided over the ceremony, honoring 149 volunteers from the 904 Volunteer Group and other civilian volunteers. These individuals played a crucial role in facilitating the public's access to pay respects to the late Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, at the plaza in front of the King Rama VI Monument, 1st Army Area Headquarters.

According to Thai News Agency, the expression of gratitude was aimed at recognizing the volunteers' sacrifice and spirit in assisting the public during this period of mourning. The event was held in conjunction with the Royal Volunteer Coordination Center, Region 1 (Front Line), at Sanam Luang, commencing on October 30, 2025. The center has continuously offered opportunities for willing individuals to participate in this significant mission. To date, a total of 701,462 people have paid their respects to the late King's body, highlighting the massive public engagement and the essential support provided by the volunteers.
