2nd Army Area Command Boosts Mine Clearance Training to Enhance Border Security

Surin: The 2nd Army Area Command is ramping up its efforts to strengthen the capabilities of its mine clearance units by conducting an intensive three-day training session aimed at creating a safer border area.

According to Thai News Agency, at 9:30 AM on March 3, 2026, Lieutenant General Veerayut Rakasilp, Commander of the 2nd Army Area, assigned Colonel Yutthasart Setthachai, Deputy Chief of Staff of the 2nd Army Area Operations Center, to oversee the refresher training on mine detection equipment at the Field Engineer Unit, Suranaree Force. Colonel Yutthasart emphasized the importance of ensuring maximum security in the area, enhancing vigilance, and upgrading security measures for operational bases along the border.

The training is scheduled to take place from March 3 to March 5, 2026, and aims to improve the skills of mine and explosive detection units across all operational bases in the command's area of responsibility. The focus is on equipping personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to safely and effectively carry out their missions.

This initiative represents a significant step forward for the 2nd Army Area in elevating border security standards. It systematically builds a protective shield for operational bases and concretely advances the mission of "Secure Borders, Safe People."
