2nd Army Region Commander Oversees Mine Clearance Operation in Surin Province

Surin: The 2nd Army Area Commander visited the region to inspect a ravine and oversee the collection of a bomb as part of an ongoing mine clearance operation.

According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Gen. Wirayut Raksin, Commander of the 2nd Army Region, traveled to Ban Thai Niyom in the Bak Dai Subdistrict of Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province. His visit was focused on monitoring the progress of the mine clearance operation conducted by the National Mine Action Center and the 4th Humanitarian Mine Action Unit of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters.

During his visit, Lt. Gen. Raksin emphasized the importance of caution and adherence to stringent safety measures in the operation. He also highlighted the need for raising public awareness about the dangers posed by landmines in border areas, aiming to prevent potential threats to the local populace.

The Commander reiterated his dedication to supporting humanitarian missions and reducing the risks associated with landmines. His efforts are part of a broader initiative to maintain and enhance security in border regions.
