Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand's Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has addressed concerns regarding reports of Cambodia reinforcing its troop levels along the shared border. According to Thai News Agency, Anutin reiterated Thailand's right to protect its sovereignty, dignity, and honor amidst calls from Cambodia for international intervention to seize territory. In response to questions about Cambodia's military activities, Anutin dismissed the reports, urging reliance on official intelligence and security information from government agencies rather than rumors.

Anutin further reflected on the role of the military over the past year, highlighting their dedication in allowing citizens to celebrate New Year's without fear of national threats. He visited border areas on January 2nd, 2026, to personally thank soldiers for their service in maintaining border security.

When confronted with reports of Cambodian troop deployments, Anutin insisted on the need for verified intelligence from the National Security Council.
