Anutin Charnvirakul Stresses Election Readiness and Dismisses Vote Buying Allegations

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, underscored his preparation for upcoming elections, asserting that there would be no surprises as the party leader must support its members. He laughed off allegations by Nipit Intarasombat regarding vote buying aimed at a prime minister candidate and sarcastically noted that the Democrat Party leader was also named A. Charnvirakul, humorously giving the party a new nickname.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin emphasized that the Bhumjaithai Party has been election-ready since last year. During their tenure as the opposition party, they engaged directly with the populace. Ekanat Promphan, a Bangkok leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, suggested a surprise visit by the Prime Minister, but Anutin clarified that it would be the party leader actively campaigning for parliamentary candidates.

Addressing the "Half-Price Plus" project, Anutin asserted it as a distinct policy of the Bhumjaithai Party, with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, committed to championing its second phase. Anutin expressed high hopes for candidates in Bangkok, emphasizing the importance of instilling public confidence.

When discussing the NIDA poll results showing the Democrat Party leading in Songkhla province, Anutin highlighted Bhumjaithai Party's consistent performance, affirming reliance on their opinion polls. He dismissed flood-related criticisms and speculative rumors about Prime Ministerial targeting, urging focus on stable matters.

Responding to Mr. Nipit Intarasombat's allegations of MP vote buying, Anutin humorously remarked on the Democrat Party leader's name starting with "A," playfully suggesting support for their leader, whom he jokingly named "Aphithin."
