According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, as the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, commented on an incident involving a 40mm grenade fired near a Thai operational base on the Thai-Cambodian border. Anutin emphasized that the military and armed forces have already explained the situation.
When questioned about the possibility of the election being postponed, Anutin dismissed the worries, affirming that the election is scheduled for February 8th. He expressed confidence that the election would proceed as planned, despite concerns from various parties.
Addressing allegations against the Bhumjaithai Party for potentially stirring nationalist sentiments, Anutin remarked that the public is easily influenced, suggesting that people should be allowed to express their feelings.
