Nattawut Urges Mueang Phon Residents to Vote for Pheu Thai to Teach MPs a Lesson

Phon: Nattawut Saikua urged residents of Mueang Phon to vote for Pheu Thai with two ballots to teach a lesson to MPs who switch parties. He emphasized that Pheu Thai is not merely asking for votes but is committed to implementing good policies, including guaranteed prices for agricultural products. Nattawut noted, with a hint of sarcasm, that while the prices of most goods have increased, the price of millet has fallen.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nattawut Saikua, a campaign assistant for the Pheu Thai Party, addressed a rally in Phon Municipality, Phon District, Khon Kaen Province. His support was directed towards Mr. Nattapol Krungriangthong, the candidate for Member of Parliament in Khon Kaen Constituency 9, a seat previously held by Ms. Sarasanan Arnnoporn, who switched allegiance from the Pheu Thai Party to the Bhumjaithai Party.

During his speech, Mr. Nattawut reflected on the changes in representation, questioning why the MP for the area had changed. Upon learning that the previous MP had passed away, he urged the villagers to vote for Mr. Nattapol on February 8th, emphasizing his potential to become a minister within two years if elected. He assured the crowd that if Mr. Nattapol was not elected, efforts would be renewed in the next term.

Mr. Nattawut also addressed the emotional impact of MPs defecting from the party, promising the residents of Muang Phon that they had not been abandoned. He encouraged Mr. Nattapol to hold onto the seat and prevent any further defections. He acknowledged rumors of potential altercations but clarified that the Pheu Thai Party is committed to advancing their policies and addressing the nation's issues peacefully.

Reflecting on past assurances from party members that MPs would remain loyal, Mr. Nattawut expressed his confusion about the defections. He highlighted the importance of political decisions and the power of the people to hold politicians accountable. He reassured the audience that despite the changes, Pheu Thai remains committed to its candidates and policies.

Mr. Nattawut concluded by emphasizing the party's policies, particularly the guaranteed 30% profit margin for agricultural products, and noted the unfortunate decline in sorghum prices. He urged the people of Mueang Phon and Khon Kaen to demonstrate their frustration by voting for Pheu Thai, thus sending a strong message to the country.
