Bangkok: Airports of Thailand (AOT) has announced an increase in the international departure passenger service fee, setting the new charge at 1,120 baht per person, effective June 20, 2026. This adjustment applies to all six AOT-operated airports, including Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai, Phuket, and Hat Yai airports. The domestic passenger fee remains unchanged at 130 baht.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paweena Chariyathitipong, President and CEO of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), stated that the decision to adjust the Passenger Service Charge (PSC) was made after thorough research and analysis. Despite the anticipated impact on ticket prices, Ms. Paweena expressed confidence that the increase would not significantly influence travelers' decisions or destination preferences.
Ms. Paweena highlighted that while ticket prices may be affected, the primary factor influencing them is fuel prices. The increased fee will be allocated toward airport development projects rather than compensating for lost revenue following the termination of King Power's Duty Free concession contract. AOT has taken steps to address potential conflicts and assures that the adjustment aligns with comprehensive studies conducted on the matter.
