BAAC Funeral Assistance Association Confirms Continued Operations Amid Social Media Speculations

Bangkok: The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) has reassured its customers that the "Funeral Assistance Association for BAAC Customers" is continuing its operations as usual. This clarification comes in response to social media reports suggesting the cessation of certain funeral assistance associations, potentially causing concern among BAAC customers.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Airin Phanrit, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, emphasized that the BAAC Customer Funeral Assistance Association remains robust and operational. The association, a legal entity established by BAAC customer members, is designed to provide mutual assistance in managing funerals under the Funeral Assistance Act B.E. 2545 (2002), without aiming for profit.

The BAAC, serving as an advisor to the association, has confirmed that despite reports of dissolutions of some associations, the BAAC Customer Funeral Service Association maintains its stability and operational capacity. The institution acknowledges customer concerns and is prepared to offer advice and consider appropriate assistance measures.

BAAC urges members and stakeholders to communicate accurate information to prevent misunderstandings and reduce anxiety. The bank remains committed to supporting the association's operations to ensure efficiency, transparency, and alignment with the best interests of farmers and customers.

Customers or their families with inquiries regarding the association can directly contact the Funeral Assistance Association for BAAC customers for further information. The BAAC, a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Finance, continues to provide financial assistance and support for farmers and agricultural cooperatives, reaffirming its commitment to the BAAC Funeral Assistance Program's strength and normal operations.
