Bangkok: Bangkok Bank launches the ‘Bangkok Bank Travel Card’ to cater to international travelers, offering comprehensive privileges to all destinations under the concept “Go…to the destination” and aims to have at least 100,000 cards issued in the first year.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chok Na Ranong, Executive Vice President and Credit Card Manager of Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited, stated that the bank is ready to introduce the ‘Bangkok Bank Travel Card,’ a prepaid cash card developed to provide Thai travelers with an exclusive experience. This card offers comprehensive benefits from before departure to every destination, including payments for products and services accepted in 150 currencies worldwide. Transactions are processed in Thai baht, loaded on the card, using Mastercard’s exchange rate during business hours. There is no 2.5% foreign exchange rate risk on all card payments and foreign currency cash withdrawals at Mastercard-accepted ATMs worldwide.
Travelers can set up rate alerts and exchange into up to 11 foreign currencies on the card, including USD, GBP, EUR, JPY, HKD, SGD, CNY, AUD, NZD, CAD, and CHF, available 24/7 via Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking. Additional benefits include international travel insurance coverage worth over 3 million baht from Bangkok Insurance Public Company Limited and Mastercard Flight Delay Pass privileges, which grant access to over 1,500 airport lounges worldwide when flights are delayed, starting from January 2026.
Cardholders receive pre-flight privileges such as free access to the Miracle Lounge, discounts of up to 30% for themselves and up to five companions per flight, and unlimited times per year. The card also offers Mastercard Priceless Specials, cashback, discounts, and exclusive services from leading merchants worldwide.
The ‘Bangkok Bank Travel Card’ is equipped with advanced security standards and SMS Spending Alert services to ensure confidence in every purchase. The card aims to be a financial “companion” for modern travelers, simplifying overseas purchases and providing value, with expectations of at least 100,000 card applications in its first year.
Applications for the ‘Bangkok Bank Travel Card’ are open until December 31, 2026, with a 200 baht joining fee waived. A launch promotion offers 3% cashback, up to 1,500 baht, for spending at overseas merchants and registered online merchants abroad. Additionally, cardholders can enjoy free access to the Miracle Lounge and discounts for AIS SIM Roaming.
