Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, presided over a meeting with the party's prospective MPs, proudly announcing a significant increase in their representation in parliament. Anutin highlighted the growth in the number of MPs as a testament to the public's confidence in the party.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting, which followed the unofficial election results, was vibrant and attended by members of the party's executive committee and key figures, including Mr. Chaiyanok Chidchob, the party's secretary-general, and prospective list MPs Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa and Mr. Ekanat Promphan. Anutin expressed his delight, stating, "I would like to congratulate the Bhumjaithai Party on this election. Not only did they win 193 seats in parliament, but they also won seats in 20 provinces, compared to only 8 provinces in 2023."
Anutin attributed the party's success to three key figures, whom he referred to as the "three cooks": Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, the prime minister candidate; Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, the campaign assistant; and Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, the campaign assistant. He credited their efforts with increasing the party's trust, popularity, and faith among the public.
In his concluding remarks, Anutin expressed optimism about the party's ability to foster peace and unity in the southern border provinces, emphasizing the inclusion of 12 Muslim MPs. He underscored the party's commitment to non-discrimination, stating, "We do not discriminate based on race or religion; what we all share is the spirit of being Thai."
