Bangkok: ‘BKS’ is preparing to collaborate with Thailand Post to enhance its parcel delivery services by offering home delivery-Hub to Door-scheduled to commence in 2025. This initiative aims to improve convenience for service users and cater to rising demands.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchawan Promtham, Director and Acting Managing Director of Transport Co., Ltd. (BKS), stated that the company has devised a business plan focusing on parcel receiving and sending to bolster the capabilities of regional bus stations. This move is expected to support the growing demand for parcel delivery services and generate revenue for the organization in line with the Ministry of Transport’s policy.
Currently, Transport Company Limited operates 16 regional parcel pick-up and drop-off centers across various locations, including the Parcel Pick-up and Drop-off Center in Chatuchak, Southern Bus Terminal (Borommaratchachonnani), Rangsit Terminal, and others. Additionally, 93 BKS bus stations nationwide offer parcel services, enhancing accessibility for the public.
The company also provides parcel bus services on six major routes, including Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Mae Sai, Nong Khai, Nakhon Phanom, Ubon Ratchathani, and Hat Yai. These services are widely used for transporting goods such as agricultural and consumer products, benefiting small entrepreneurs in the provinces.
The service rates for parcel delivery are structured based on size and weight. For instance, Box A, which measures up to 50 cm and weighs up to 5 kg, starts at 30 baht. Motorcycle transportation fees depend on engine size, with prices starting at 1,300 baht for engines not exceeding 110 cc. Bicycle transportation costs vary by size, with the smallest size starting at 200 baht.
Parcel delivery terms dictate that packages should not exceed 50 kg, and items such as dangerous goods, flammable materials, illegal items, and narcotics are prohibited. Damage insurance is available up to 1,000 baht based on the item’s value. The parcel delivery centers operate daily from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
