Nong prue: Police are hunting for a gang of hooded burglars who broke into a British home and made off with 2 million in cash. Three hooded robbers wielding knives broke into the home of an English national, making off with a safe containing 2 million baht in cash. They escaped in a pickup truck. Police are investigating and searching for clues to bring the perpetrators to justice.
According to Thai News Agency, Nong Prue Police Station received a report at 11:06 PM on February 26, 2026, that a group of criminals robbed the home of a foreign tourist in a village in Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. At the scene, a two-story townhome in the heart of the village, the victims were Mr. Wesleigh Cyril Russell, 32, a British national and chef working abroad, and his Thai wife, Ms. Chandee, 34.
In a state of shock, they stated that while they were sitting inside the house with her boyfriend and a British friend, three assailants, believed to be foreigners and wearing hooded jackets to conceal their faces, burst in. One of the assailants held a knife to her boyfriend's neck, demanded to know where the money was kept, and forced them into the kitchen before snatching their mobile phones.
She tried to run away, but the group of robbers dragged her back in before storming upstairs to the second floor. They then stole a safe containing over 2 million baht in cash, which had been withdrawn to buy a house. Afterward, they quickly walked back out to a black pickup truck parked in front of the house, crashed through the guardhouse barrier, and sped away.
The CCTV cameras clearly captured images of the perpetrators. They were large, well-built men, possibly of foreign descent, wearing long pants and long-sleeved hooded black shirts that covered their faces, leaving only their eyes visible. They broke into the house, and the victim was heard screaming before fleeing for her life. After stealing the property, the perpetrators calmly walked out to their car and drove away.
Initially, Pol. Col. Natthapol Phongsookskul, Superintendent of Nong Prue Police Station, ordered police officers to broadcast a search for the vehicle and suspects matching the description provided by the victim along the suspected escape route. However, no trace was found. He then instructed the investigative team to search the area for clues and pursue this group of criminals to be prosecuted according to the law.
