Cabinet Appoints Highly Qualified Officials to Key Positions

Bangkok: The Cabinet has resolved to appoint several highly qualified civil servants to key academic and administrative positions, as announced by Ms. Airin Phanrit, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office.

According to Thai News Agency, the Cabinet approved a proposal from the Office of the Prime Minister to appoint Mr. Vaidit Ochavit as a Water Strategy Advisor (Highly Qualified Policy and Planning Analyst) at the National Water Resources Office, effective July 14, 2025. This appointment is under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Bowornsak Uwanno and has received approval from Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Sophon Saram. The appointment will take effect from the date of the royal appointment.

In addition, the Cabinet approved a proposal from the Ministry of Finance to expand the Board of Directors of the Government Savings Bank. Six additional directors have been appointed, effective from February 10, 2026. The new appointees are Mr. Setthachak Leeyakart, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak, Mr. Worawit Chailimpamonthri, Mr. Pakorn Apaphan, Mr. Supat Metheeworapoj, and Mr. Rangsan Thammanee Wong. These appointments were approved by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas.

The Cabinet also approved the appointment of Mr. Chantanont Wannakhechorn to the Board of Directors of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, replacing Mr. Norawich La-laeng, effective from February 10, 2026. This appointment, which allows the new appointee to serve for the remainder of the term, has been endorsed by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas.

Finally, the Cabinet approved a proposal from the Anti-Money Laundering Office to appoint Mr. Wittaya Neetitham as Deputy Secretary-General of the Anti-Money Laundering Office. This appointment, filling a vacant position, is effective from the date of royal appointment, with the Prime Minister's approval for submission to the Cabinet.
