Cabinet Secretary Confirms No Ministerial Names Submitted Due to Pending Prime Minister Vote

Bangkok: The Cabinet Secretary confirmed that no names of ministers have been submitted yet because Parliament has not yet voted for the Prime Minister. The qualification check process remains unchanged, and even if an issue is pending with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), it doesn't automatically render the person ineligible.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Natthajaree Anantasilsin, Secretary-General of the Cabinet, discussed preparations for verifying the qualifications of ministers in Anutin's second government. She stated that no names have been submitted yet as the vote for prime minister has not taken place, reiterating that the verification process remains unchanged.

When questioned about the eligibility of individuals under investigation by independent organizations like the NACC, the Cabinet Secretary emphasized that all factors would need to be considered. He noted that the Council of State had opined that an individual had not yet been found guilty, explaining that complaints could sometimes be malicious and require careful evaluation.

The Cabinet Secretary clarified that a complaint filed with the National Anti-Corruption Commission does not automatically render an individual ineligible to serve. This statement aims to prevent unfair treatment of individuals based on pending investigations.
