Bangkok: The Second Army Region has disclosed that Cambodia has installed cameras with the aim of provoking Thailand into a retaliatory action, intending to gather evidence to file a lawsuit related to the Internet of Things (IoT).

According to Thai News Agency, on September 27, 2015, Cambodian soldiers reportedly used submachine guns and grenade launchers to fire into Thai territory. This act was part of a strategic plan by Cambodia to incite a response from Thailand. Cameras were set up by the Cambodian military to document any retaliatory action by the Thai side, intending to present this footage to the Cambodian IoT authorities.

At 1:00 PM on the same day, the Thai authorities were informed by their Cambodian counterparts that a delegation from the Cambodian IoT would be entering the Channel An Ma area later that afternoon. The situation escalated when a spokesperson from the Cambodian Ministry of Defense held a press conference shortly after the incident, announcing that a Cambodian IoT team would be inspecting the area as part of their plan to ensnare the Thai forces. The Suranaree forces were on high alert and had orders to respond with force if necessary.

A video clip captured by the Cambodian soldiers showed them setting up a camera and subsequently reporting to the IoT team, with audible gunfire from the Cambodian side targeting Thai territory.
